About the Artist

Lética Tarrago is a Xalapa-based Mexican visual artist whose practice spans six decades and crosses printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media. Her work is rooted in the graphic tradition of Mexican printmaking while remaining entirely her own — characterized by a profound sensitivity to material, memory, and place.

Written about by figures including Emilio Carballido, Sergio Pitol, and Bertha Taracena, her work has been exhibited across Mexico from her debut at the Galería de la Alianza Française in 1973 to recent group shows in Tabasco and Guanajuato.
